Happy Birthday Whitney Houston!!!.... The late and legendary "Whitney Houston" Would Have Been 49 Years Old Today!!!!

August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012 -- The late and legendary Whitney Houston would have been 49 years old and well on her way to reviving her career. Losing Whitney was a devastating blow that saddened us all. Even with her troubled life, she was still heavily regarded as, “The Voice.”
At the time of Whitney’s untimely death, she was in the midst of strengthening her vocals. Clearly Houston was involved in the remake of the Motown-inspired flick, “Sparkle” and lit up the silver screen.
We will get to see the “I Will Always Love You” singer in her last role when “Sparkle” comes out on August 17th.

Timbaland Not Happy With Drake Producing Aaliyah’s Album

Recent news broke that Drake would be involved in the posthumous record from Aaliyah and there is one producer who is not too happy with this news.
Timbaland feels a bit confused as to why he has not been asked to be a part of the projectand is also wondering why he was never told this project was going to take place from the get go.
Drake is set to executive produce a posthumous album from the late Aaliyah. But,Timbaland had a few thoughts about the whole situation, in a recent interview with Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club.
We all know how close Timbaland was to Aaliyah so it comes as no surprise that he was not too happy with the news of Drake’s involvement on the record. Timbo thinks that if Drake wants to move forward with the Aaliyah record, then out of respect he needs to get him and Missy Elliott involved, as they were two of Aaliyah’s most frequent collaborators.
“I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if [Drake] do it, it should be with me and him, and Missy,” he said.
“I don’t know what’s going on. The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. For it to be on his record, that would not be right.”
Drake is set to debut his single with the late singer at the OVO Festival this weekend in Toronto.

Eminem Hits The Studio With Lady Gaga, What!?

Fans were recently surprised when news of Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar hit the web, but fans will be left speechless once they learn who else she has hit the studio with.
Hip Hops most exciting lyricistEminem has revealed that he has already collaborated with Gaga and will be releasing the song on his new upcoming album.
Lady Gaga also posted a TwitPic of herself with new rapper Kendrick Lamar in the studio together. But I think people are actually shocked to learn that she will be featured in Eminem new song, titled ‘Street Lights’.
Eminem spoke with MTV RapFix on the subject, “Yeah, I got this crazy record with Gaga and Kendrick for the upcoming LP. Its called ‘Street Lights’, and its just a real upbeat record.”
The song will actually be on  Em’s next album, rather than the ARTPOP album Lady Gaga announced a couple of days back. The single will be released “after Slaughterhouse’salbum”, who is part of Shady 2.0.
funny thing about this whole ordeal is that Eminem once called Gaga “a male lady” on  one of his old tracks “A Kiss” from his collaboration with Royce Da 5’9′ as Bad Meets Evil. I must be the first to admit I never saw this one coming!

Dr. Dre Closes Deal With FX For New Show

Dr. Dre and FX have sealed the deal as it is reported that Dre will co-executive produce a TV show that focuses on the music industry and crime business.
After what seemed like “secret” negotiations Dre has announced that he has sold a script to FX for an upcoming one-hour music/crime drama.
Deadline revealed that, Sidney Quashie penned the script for the show, which “explores present day Los Angeles through the lenses of the music business and the crime business.” Ther are very few details about the show, but they will be revealed in due time.
Dre has long been promising a new album that has quickly gained mythical status. However, the doc is still getting his money with headphones and other ventures, so many know by know that he is in no rush to complete the album as money is not an issue. Dre will executive produce the show alongside Daniel Schnider, Brad Bertner is set to co-executive produce.
Dre launched Crucial Films in 2007 at New Line Cinema with video director Phillip Atwell.

Ice Cube Talks New Album & 'Last Friday' Movie

Ice Cube who was performing live from Irving Plaza in NYC, speaks on his new album 'Everything's Corrupt,' his upcoming movie 'Last Friday,' and the new west coast movement.

Ice Cube has been out of the music game for a while bu that does not mean he isn’t hard at work. The OG rapper claims that the new album he is putting together will appease many fans as it is “Hip Hop for the soul.”
In a recent interview with Red Bull USA, Ice Cube said that his new LP will be “Hip Hop for the soul,” he made it a point to explain that he’s focusing on more than just rhyming and instead making an album with actual meaning.
“I’m pretty deep into it, I’m about 65 percent finished with it. It’ll be out next year, you know, and it’s hardcore Hip Hop,” he said.
“It’s street knowledge, it’s talking about what’s going on in the hood, but it’s talking about what’s going on in the political arena. It’s what I always try to give. Much more than just rhyming. Mostly, it’s Hip Hop for the soul. That’s what I’m trying to deliver.”
Ice Cube also touched base on his upcoming Friday film, saying that the script is very close to being done.
“The script is almost finished, I got a meeting with New Line on Monday or Tuesday, to talk about the next step,” he said.
“You gotta get that script tight before you can take the next step. It’s beautiful because the West Coast, we’ve always been trying to prove ourselves to the Hip Hop nation, that we was much more than bitches, hoes, gangstas, guns… We’ve been trying to show that we’re very creative on the West Coast, but we got caught in a style that worked, a formula that worked, and it kind of got oversaturated in a way. But the dudes on the West are showing how creative they are. It’s good that the hip Hop community is starting to acknowledge it and getting their shine, and that’s a beautiful thing.”
Ice cube is a highly respected veteran of the rap game, but more than anything he is one of the few artists that has been able to have a successful transition into acting.
